Nice

Very nice game! Old school jrpg :))

Wonderful with some minor bugs

Lunar in one of my favorite games and one of the best JRPG of all times, thank you for thiis version, 4 star for some minor bugs I hope youll fix soon: -very low definition of animated cutscenes -too much difference of volume between cutscenes and gameplay

perfect port for touch!!

great porting of the original title, 5 stars, great production!!

Disappointing.

Lunar was my first RPG game and its been an all time favorite. I have every single remake of the game. This one is by far the worst. I was extremely optimistic when I read the specs of the game and all the other reviews. Most of them talked about how beautiful the game looks and how easy it is to play. I found it none of those things. The game looks ugly, which I find odd since the PSP version was gorgeous and I figured this version was just that game but tuned to allow for touch commands. As for gameplay, its terrible. I cant get the characters to move right and at the beginning of the game that is such a crucial thing. At the very first dungeon youre not strong enough to take every single monster and sometimes you can bypass them by just going around. I cant do that at all right with these controls. You might say thats not that big of a problem, but... At the first dungeon you also have the monkeys that break the ice for you. Because I cant control the characters correctly I keep getting into fights with those monkeys, and Im not allowed to run away most of the time. So Im forced to kill them. So then I have to leave the room and come back in to try again. But it keeps happening. I got so frustrated that I gave up playing. You have no idea how much I wish this touch version was good. But instead its just disappointing.

Not happy

I always loved this game but I am very disappointed a game with so many crashes was sold online.

Its a good story.

The game starts out slow, and it takes a while to get used to the game play. However, it does have a good story. You can also have a large amount of save files anywhere, and easily load them up.

Classic

Loved going back and playing one of the best games on Sega CD. Timeless story and graphic updates make this a must own.

Songs

Anyone know why they changed the words to the songs?

Great game

I enjoyed the game enough to write a review. Worth the money. As good as it was in 1996.

Hi

Dislike how they changed up some of the dialog and music lyrics other than that Im impressed

Childhood dream

I was too poor to own the original game as a kid when it came out. It took me a long time to borrow a copy and beat it. Now I own my own copy. I wish more games like these were around for the iOS.

Love this game

I have to admit I didnt even want this game at first but my friend keep going on and on about it when we was kids so now I could play it I desided to he would have loved to play this on a phone he was lunars biggest fan

Cant thank you enough!

Thank you for bringing back so much memories at its best.. So far so good, cannot expect a better version! (Still in the beggining of the game)

Best game ever

Playing this game is like a dream come true. One of my first RPGs after ff7. Now waiting for eternal blue. Hopefully it will be out soon. I dont understand why people are giving bad reviews about the game but from my understanding they must be trying to play it on outdated devices.

Heartbreaking

To start, I didnt want to write this review, Lunar SSS is one of my all time favorite games, it was something that has brought tears to my eyes since childhood, the mobile version brings tears to my eyes as well, a different kind. the good: new way to move in the game by touching on the screen. movement is direct and wont path around obstacles. the neutral: It has the adapted soundtrack most* of the original game is there the bad: its save system is terrible, there is a default save that you cant erase and it takes you through 2 minutes of dialogue every time you accidentally click it. the touch controls are very hard to use, going up and down are difficult, usually end up going diagonally. maybe changing the size or location of the pad would help? the menu is very difficult to navigate, if you use a healing item on someone, and want to use another you have to re scroll through the menu from the start again. cursor memory is non existent and your first selection goes the opposite direction of the key you press? seriously how is that bug not fixed? the epilogue is missing from the game. this is actually a port of an emulated version of the game, all too obvious based on the horrible save state system that you cant even overwrite. lastly, the game pauses whenever you move the ipad/phone more than 3 inches. on the pause screen are two options. continue, and main menu. if you click main menu it quits your current game without saving it and without warning you. sorry did I mention the warning was on the pause screen that you propped up because you bumped your ipad on something then accidentally nudged the main menu button right after? The obvious: the playstation remake was a masterpiece, the mobile version gave the game added 5 major problems, some of them features without any improvement than a touch interface. why were nearly game breaking elements included that actually ruin the game experience?

A MUST BUY!! One of the greatest jrpgs of all time!

This was my favorite game on ps1 right beside final fantasy VII. If youve never played this gem you absolutely need to buy it! The best of old school jrpgs by far! Replaying this game on my iPhone/iPad is a wonderful experience. If youre a fan of jrpgs and havent played this you owe it to yourself to buy this game. The story, music and anime cut scenes are incredibly charming. Cheers!

This is awesome

One of th grate St games ever and this port does justice. Controls take a bit of getting used to and it does have a few minor crash issues. But worth any trouble (and its minimal) great great game. Love it on touch. Please please do the second one eternal blue!!!!

Meh.

I love JRPGs but graded solely on the quality of the port for iOS, this game is mediocre at best. The graphics are nice but the menus are hideous and counter intuitive and the controls are erratic. Too bad... I have been dying for a good ps1 rpg fix

Nostalgia at its finest

The controls took a second to acclimate to, but it plays well!

The old school at its finest!

For those of us that were around when this game had just come out (and I mean the Sega cd version, not the PSX reboot), his was the game that hooked you into RPGs. Sadly nowadays the fun of games take a backseat to flashy graphics affirmative action run amuck. Hopefully someday the industry will get its act together again and look back on these days as the highlights of what not to do. And to the guys that brought lunar SSSC can we please get the sequel, Lunar: Eternal Blue? There are whole generations that are missing out on what games were meant to be and that didnt rely on in app purchases, and expansion add-ons as a crutch.
